Doctor of Audiology

Audiology students, graduate orientation, fall 2008
Program Information
Our Doctor of Audiology is a four-year residential program that includes three years of course work, and the equivalent of one year of clinical internship. We do not offer a distance-learning or a part-time option. The application deadline is Jan. 15 of each year.
The degree program is designed to prepare audiologists for autonomous clinical practice. The clinical doctorate model at ASU stresses the integration of academic classroom learning and practical experience across a broad spectrum of clinical specialties and practice environments. The Doctor of Audiology program is accredited by the Council for Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Facilities
The ASU Department of Speech and Hearing Science moved to a new, expansive state-of-the-art facility in Lattie F. Coor Hall in January 2004. The substantially increased laboratory and clinical space has enabled us to expand our training opportunities for students, and to fully capitalize on our ability to provide students with high technology teaching, research and clinical facilities.
Faculty
The doctor of Audiology program faculty is comprised of world-class scientists, clinicians and academics from the speech and hearing science department at Arizona State University, the Mayo Medical School and Mayo Clinic of Scottsdale, and the Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Phoenix.
Clinic
The clinical component of the audiology doctoral program stresses the importance of students first gaining exposure, then supervised experience, and eventually independent service provision as they progress through a series of diverse and challenging campus-based and off-campus clinical placements at a wide variety of facilities.
Applying to the Program
Jan. 15 is the deadline for applications.
